Minutes of the Meeting
February 17, 2006

Meeting was called to order by Steve Wells,

 

Meeting called to order at 10:08 at the Ukiah Valley Fire District South Station

Minutes from January Meeting approved with no additions, deletions or changes
Programs for the training officer meeting were discussed with the possibility of a Coast Guard Presentation to be held at a later meeting.

R.O.P. Report- Nona has secured $1000.00 for the upcoming LP Gas training. Mike Ciancio has negotiated with the WPGA to provide the training for two days for the cost of one day. May 12th the class will be held in Fort Bragg and on May 13th it will be hosted by Ukiah Valley Fire District and is to be held at the Fair Grounds.

College Report- No Mendocino College representative present but it is reported that Instructor 1A and 1B will be completed soon and are going well with the Prevention series to start soon.

Upcoming Training- MESA has Homeland Security money available for training, the HAZMAT Tech training budget has been approved, more USAR training is discussed as a possible topic as is training on the communications vehicle. There will be an upcoming water rescue and boat operator class in Mendocino. Brendan Turner is going to follow up on the S290 class to be held in Redwood Valley.
Treasurer Report- Current balance is in the neighborhood of $20000.00 per Steve Wells.

Academy Report-
Per Mike everything is going well with no complaints. Kevin Jennings brought up a request from some students to have the HAZMAT FRO class over two weekends next year, no action was taken at this time. A reminder was made for instructors to fill out their time sheets. Qualified instructors were also requested to assist with the Northtree Fire Trailer this year to be used at Ukiah Fire for Fire Control 3, anyone interested should contact Kevin.

Old Business- None

New Business- Steve has contacted the webmaster who states that there will be no problem establishing a database of instructors as long as he receives the information.
Peter Armstrong was complimented on his contribution to the website and his support of the counties fire departments.
 

Next meeting is to be held April 7th, 2006 at the Westport Fire Department.
