Meeting of September 23, 2005
Meeting called to order at 10:00 by Steve Wells
Introductions:
Mike Ciancio, FBFD; Rich Boehm, CDF; Brendan Turner, RVCFD; Chuck Yates, UFD; Dan Thornton, PVFD; Andrew Williams, HFD; Beck Regalia, WVFD; Daryl Schoeppner, BVFD; Jon Noxer, BUFD; Frank Maurice, WVFD.
Minutes:
Minutes of 2/24/2005 were approved.
Program:
None. Discussion regarding ideas for future programs i.e., guest speakers, seminars, etc.
R.O.P.:
Ciancio explained how funding (A.D.A.) works and encouraged fire science instructor training. Nona Olsen (R.O.P.) is scheduled for next meeting.
Academy Report:
Ciancio presented this year’s academy overview. Discussed possible large scale structure burn at Holly Ranch subdivision in Fort Bragg. Mike will coordinate with Chuck Yates for possible North Tree class.
Treasurer’s Report:
Wells reported R.O.P. funding should be here anytime. Current balance is approximately $10,000.00
Old Business:
Continuing discussion regarding HazMat account. Clarification at County Chief’s meeting is needed.
New Business:
Much discussion regarding National Fire Academy took place. Those who have been to it highly encourage this educational experience! Ideas for upcoming classes include confined spaces ops, truck ops, S-290 class, VFO series, S.T.L. and staging area manager, F.R.O. and decon, and an ocean rescue class in Mendocino.
Rich Boehm presented a draft schedule of C.D.F. classes available to county fire departments. Call Rich at 459-7417 for details.
As classes become available, a list of locations and dates will be posted on our website (mendocinocountyfiretrainingofficers.com).
Wells reminded the group to update the website T.O. directory with current names.
